This print showcases a rare and valuable manuscript known as "Kitab Nasihat al-Muluk" by the esteemed philosopher and mystic, Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali. Created in the late 17th to early 18th century by the Moroccan School, this Arabic manuscript on paper measures 23.2x16.5 cm and is currently held in a private collection. The "Kitab Nasihat al-Muluk" also referred to as "The Book of Counsel for Kings" serves as a comprehensive manual of advice specifically tailored for rulers, ministers, and wise individuals. Its beautifully handwritten pages feature sepia maghribi script with red and green rules, along with titles written in larger red or black maghribi calligraphy. With its intricate illuminated heading and meticulously crafted borders, this manuscript exemplifies the artistry that was prevalent during its time. Each folio contains 18 lines of text adorned with exquisite details. Notably, the opening folio bears later notes indicating its date of AH 1151 (corresponding to AD 1738-1739). The entire manuscript is bound in brown morocco leather, adding an additional layer of elegance to this remarkable piece.
