King Edward VII, also known as Edward VII or Bertie, reigned from 1901 until his death in 1910. He was the eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and succeeded to the throne following his mother's death. King Edward VII was known for his love of hunting, racing, and his extensive collection of fine art. However, his most enduring and well-documented companionship was with his dogs. Caesar, a Scottish Terrier, was one of his favorite canine companions.
