View over Tresillian Bridge to Holy Trinity Church in the distance. A gentleman artist with easel is also on the bridge. The church was built as a mission church in 1878. It was extended and the bell tower added in 1904 when it became a parish church. The bells are from Merther Church (now a ruin). In the distance, we catch a glimpse of Holy Trinity Church, standing tall amidst the serene landscape. As our eyes wander through this snapshot of history, we notice a gentleman artist engrossed in his work on the bridge. With an easel set up before him, he captures the beauty of this charming village on canvas. Holy Trinity Church holds its own story within this image. Originally built as a mission church in 1878, it underwent expansion and received a bell tower addition in 1904 when it transformed into a parish church. Interestingly, these bells were salvaged from Merther Church which now lies in ruins. It is worth noting that this photograph predates the construction of Sunday School and Church Hall buildings which would later become integral parts of community life by their completion in 1906. Additionally, historical records suggest that Arthur William Jordan was likely behind the lens for this remarkable shot.
