The Old City Hall at Markt Square, Gouda, South Holland, Netherlands
The Old Gouda City Hall at the Markt square was built between 1448 and 1450. It was one of the oldest Gothic city halls in the Netherlands. The Gothic Goudse stadhuis was already in use by 1450 but many alterations have been made through the centuries. Originally, the town hall was surrounded by a water moat but since 1603 the stadhuis has been without barriers at the center of the triangular Markt, one of the largest market squares in The Netherlands

EDITORS COMMENTS
. This print by Artie Photography transports us to the historic town of Gouda in South Holland, Netherlands. Standing proudly at the center of the triangular Markt square is The Old Gouda City Hall, a magnificent example of Gothic architecture that dates back to 1448-1450. Once surrounded by a water moat, this iconic structure has undergone numerous alterations over the centuries. However, its timeless beauty and rich history have remained intact.
